Paying a visit to: Monique Lhuillier

Any bride who has worn a Monique Lhuillier gown, knows that she is a master when it comes to details. And her scrupulous sense of style works just as well in interior design as proven by her Bel Air house. Well, no wonder while she compares buying furniture to the task of choosing a wedding dress: "You're committing to this for life, so it better be perfect."

Like many couturiers who spend their working hours dealing with dazzling and shimmering fabrics, the space she has created is very neutral. "We wanted an escape from color when we come home from the office. It's very tonal, but I am really into textures," Lhuillier says of her house. That's why her home is full of mixed modern and vintage furniture, upholstered in rich velvets and suedes - very tactile materials. Personally I looove the Lucite console and the stool upholstered in zebra print, in the lining room. Just as well as white-lacquer bedside tables in a guest room and fabulous crystal chandelier in bathroom. All in all, clear perfection - classic with a modern twist.

Scandinavian whiteness addiction

As I'm in love in Scandinavian interiors and white spaces with splashes of colors, no wonder that this particular apartment draw my attention. It belongs to a Danish architect Sara Giese Camre. I looove the openness and clearness of the white space with some funny, colorful detail.

Stylist: Abigail Edwards

As I'm really passionate about styling, especially interior styling, I've decided to start a new cycle about it. So I'm going to present profiles of stylists, whose work I really admire. And so here is the first to go.

Abigail Edwards is a stylist and writer. Her work is really amazing - simple, minimalistic, clean, and a little bit austere in an overall look. But interesting details and pops of color, make it eye-catching and inspiring.

Sabrina Linn's world of pillows

Adding color and pattern is the easiest way to add personal style to your home. But sometimes mixing and matching colors and patterns, might be a quite difficult task. And a former freelance stylist and Style Editor at Canadian House & Home Magazine, Sabrina Linn knew that. While still working at the magazine, she started sewing up pillows in her spare time giving them as gifts to friends. And when one of her pillows, she had been making for friend, landed on the cover, she instantly knew the timing was right to try something new. So she decided to launch her own line of pillows.

The idea behind the line is to design coordinated collections that don't look like typical coordinates. The fabrics are selected so that they amazingly work together, even though they are different. Mix of colors and prints, creating a fresh, funny look perfectly reflects her design philosophy, that the silhouette of any design - whether it's a pillow, tunic or a sofa - should have a classic form in order to balance the color and print. Her collections are all limited editions, while only a limited number of each style is made to last the season.

Here are some fabulous pillows from her collections: Flock, Garden and Resort, and something that I really just couldn't resist not to post - a sneak peek into her bag!

More of fabulous Jennifer Ferreira's apartment

Do you remember the fabulous apartment of the designer Jennifer Ferreira? Well, here is more of it. And I'm still as much in love in it, as I was earlier. An amazing combination of classic and modern. Domination of black & white with addition of interesting textures and pops of color here and there. Oh my, each time I see it, it just takes my breath away…

Stylish space with a funny twist

I looove this space - stylish and funny at the same time. Floral mosaic tiles on the fireplace, create s eye-catching detail. While painted black and reupholstered with green fabric chairs, together with red and green painting, amazingly pops up, against this monochromatic space. And painted black, big window, creates a modern loft vibe. I also like the dining's room black wall, that emphasizes the fabulous silhouette of a sculptural lamp, with some splash of color in accessories. Great painting, purple rug and colorful glassware, gives a funny twist to this high contrast frame. And the idea with shallow shelves in the bedroom, that turn handbags into art - just brilliant.

Pure DKNY - a drop of vanilla in water

I was very curious about new fragrance of Donna Karan - Pure DKNY, and all I can say is sheer simplicity. The scent expresses purity and lightness and is based around the idea if a ‘drop of vanilla in water’. And you can smell the presence of this sugary note, but in a lightened, delicate way, with the addition of fabulous flowers like: lotus, rose, jasmine, freesia, orchid, with the base of amber and sandalwood. I looove it, and so it's definitely my choice for summer, whenever it will come…

I'm also in love with the bottle, inspired by a raindrop (simple, curved with no hard edges) and an amazing advertising campaign. The website of the Pure DKNY is just stunning. All the whiteness, freshness, idea of living more simple and taking time out for the things that are closest to your heart - just brilliant.

And here are some videos - a drop of vanilla in water, the beautiful commercial with Angela Lindvall and an interview with Donna Karan herself. I hope they'll inspire you, as much as they inspired me...

Chic moderen loft tour

Tour the architectural loft of designer Chris Lischkoff. The condo, that he renovated himself, is very chic and modern. A fabulous layout - clean, open space, completed with tailored details, like chest of drawers in the hall, as also the coffee table and fireplace in the living room. And the idea with lowering the walls of an office - really great. All in all, it's an amazing elegant, yet comfortable space.

Spring inspiration moodboard

As I'm recently in looove with combination of gray & yellow and also lemon chiffon & aqua, my choice of colors for spring was obvious. I'm also fed up with black accents, which I gather during a winter a lot, and so now I've decided to replace them with the silver and glass ones. It means that I have to but maaaaaany new frames for my pictures… I also would love to have a white brick wall - lately I'm obsessed with it. And I would really like to buy a white, swivel chair. However I'm still not sure where I'll put it, while I kind of don't have free space for it...

Happy Easter !!!
